Here we have a classic Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight chambered in 12 Gauge with a 28-inch vent rib barrel, Modified choke, and 2¾-inch chamber. Built in America and renowned for its exceptionally smooth action, the Model 37 remains one of the finest pump shotguns ever produced.
One of the Model 37's most desirable features is its bottom-loading and bottom-ejecting design. Empty hulls are ejected straight down through the bottom of the receiver rather than out the side, making this shotgun equally comfortable for both right- and left-handed shooters. The enclosed receiver also helps keep dirt, debris, and brush out of the action, making it an excellent choice for serious hunters.
This shotgun is in approximately 90–92% original condition and has clearly been well cared for. The receiver retains its attractive factory game-scene engraving, featuring upland birds on one side and ducks in flight on the other. The original blued finish remains strong with only light handling wear consistent with normal field use.
The original walnut stock and forearm are solid and attractive with crisp factory checkering. There are a few minor hunting marks but no cracks or repairs. The 28-inch vent rib barrel is straight and fitted with the original front bead sight.
The bore is excellent—bright, clean, and free of pitting, with sharp interior surfaces. The action cycles smoothly, locks up tightly, and functions exactly as it should.
The factory Modified choke makes this an outstanding all-around field gun for pheasants, quail, rabbits, squirrels, doves, and sporting clays.
