Exceptionally fine Ithaca Auto & Burglar Gun with Factory Holster. It is a 20 guage double barrel pistol with10" barrels and was manufactured in 1926 as a New Ithaca Double (NID) - type B. It was manufactured as Field grade with cylinder bores. Chambered for 2 3/4 " shells. The cocking indicators are round topped. Serial number is 432718. It is in nearly mint conditon. Action is tight. Case colors are 100%. Blue is 99.9% with very slight holster wear at the muzzle. There is a slight ding in the butt. Holster is in very good condition; some scuffing; stiching is tight. It is a fully transferable NFA firearm classed as a Curio & Relic and must be transferred via ATF Form 3 or 4. I'm told the turn around time on the transfer paperwork is several months. That being the case, instead of full payment up front, I think $500 earnest money would be appropriate with the balance due when approval for transfer is given.
Ithaca produced these in batches of 100, so they have no records of to whom they were sold. The previous owner of this gun said it was ordered for Chrysler Corporation before the signing of the first union contract by Lou J Eppinger (his grandfather). It passed to his father where it spent 37 years in the safe at the J L Hudson Company (large premier deprtment store in Detroit). It passed to the son who registered it during a moratrium in the late 60's. I bought it from the son in 1981.
