Ithaca Model 37 Ultra Featherlight, 20-Gauge Slide Shotgun
Description: Ithaca, 37 Ultra Featherlight, 20-gauge shotgun, with a high-gloss finish on its American walnut stock and forend, a 25-inch modified-choke barrel with a 2¾-inch chamber, high polished blued barrel and receiver, a ventilated rib, and a muzzle bead. The forend attachment post and the stock are equipped with sling swivels. The pistol grip has the red Sid Bell cap with flying pheasant. Its total weight is 5 pounds, 3.9 ounces. Its length of pull is 14¼ inches. The drop at the comb is about 1½ inches. The drop at the heel is 2 inches. Date of manufacture is 1979 based on the serial number. There are no box, papers, or accessories with this shotgun. The barrel is labeled on the left side with “MODEL 37-ULTRAFEATHERLIGHT (circle R) 20 GA.-2 ¾” CHAMBER-PROOF TESTED” (first line) and “ITHACA GUN CO. INC, ITHACA, N.Y.-MADE IN U.S.A. -ROTO (anvil stamp) FORGED (circle R) (second line). “MOD." is stamp just forward of the receiver. The only stamp of the right side of the barrel is an anvil with ‘P’ in the middle. The receiver is adorned on both sides with hunting scenes. The left side features a hilly field scene with a pointer on two pheasants taking flight. The right side of the receiver features a cloudy lake scene with three waterfowl taking flight. The pistol grip has the red Sid Bell cap with flying pheasant. The over condition of the gun is 99 percent. The barrel has a few very small scratches on the right side of the barrel, about three inches in front of the forend. The left side of the barrel has one very small scratch, about a half inch before the muzzle. There are a few normal marks along the magazine tube due to slide action. The receiver has several small scratches on both sides of the receiver. The forearm is in excellent condition with one small scratch on the right side, about ¾ inch from the rear of the forend and a very small dents on the bottom of the forend. The stock is in excellent condition percent with a few small scratches on both sides. Nowhere on the stock or forend where the finish is penetrated. There are no marks to the stamped/rolled checkering on the pistol grip or forend; it is all deep, crisp, and unmarred. The stock is in excellent condition. The top of the stock is unblemished. The Ithaca recoil pad is supple with no drying or related cracks. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details.
