Ithaca 16 Gauge Side-by-Side Double Barrel Shotgun – Dog Scene Engraving – 28" Barrels
Description:
Up for sale is a vintage Ithaca Gun Co. 16 gauge side-by-side double barrel shotgun featuring hunting-dog scene engraving on both sides of the receiver.
This shotgun has 28" barrels marked “Smokeless Powder Steel,” double triggers, a tang-mounted safety, and a splinter-style forend. Serial number 272358F dates the shotgun to approximately 1916 production. The serial range, barrel markings, and overall configuration are consistent with an Ithaca Flues-era double; however, the specific factory grade has not been confirmed.
The shotgun is in good vintage condition. The barrels retain substantial finish with handling wear. The receiver shows patina, light spotting, and age-related wear, while the dog-scene engraving remains clearly visible. The wood shows handling marks consistent with age and use. A recoil pad has been fitted.
