Ithaca 4e Single Barrel Trap Shotgun w/ Case & 2 barrels 12 gauge Knickerbocker
Description:
Ithaca 4e Grade Single Barrel Trap. This solid and very attractive shotgun is serial #405371, circa 1966 and is one of the last of the Knickerbocker line of shotguns. It is chambered for 12 gauge 2 3/4" shells. It features an extra barrel and comes with a nice vintage travel case. One barrel shows the same serial number as the receiver and the other is numbered 405871, curiously enough. Finish on the barrels is nice with some light scratches noted on 371, but very nice bluing. Both barrels are 32" in length and have their original Ithaca Raybar sights. Receiver is in very good condition, operates nicely and shows very nice finish. Wood is in very good condition, with excellent checkering and just a few small nicks and scuffs from normal light use. The stock had been modified with a raised comb and a buttpad at some point in the guns life. The work was nicely done, but may not appeal to some shooters. There is some flaking of the finish on both sides of the stock near the butt plate and the ridge of the comb. The vintage case is in good shape and adds to the character and story. A nice gun to use and enjoy.
