Kimber Marias True SIDELOCK 20 gauge O/U 28
Description: These are very hard to find and please see articles below. I can not find any currently listed or facts as to how many were manufactured. Gun appears unfired except at factory I believe that after Kimber discontinued, Kimber donated several to the NRA, but can not find any number, or dates, seem too recall around 2010. Please email for additional pictures if needed Guessing 200-250 made, maybe much less, but just a guess. If anyone knows please email me. From another member: added 1/17 Thank you. These were not designed for lite weight. Remember, they were designed to mirror a Holland and Holland Royal. Weight was not as much a factor. As far as production is concerned, the Vallier (side by side) preceded the Marias (o/u). The Vallier was introduced in 05 and thus the prefix in the serial numbering says 05 sle and a three digit number. I don’t believe it ever exceeded 150 +- produced. In a similar fashion, the Marias was introduced in 06 and it’s serial begins with 06 ole and the #. As in your case #139. With this model too, I would suspect that less than 200 were produced. Ted Hatfield was the originator (Hatfield Gun Company). “The Turkish owners of Huglu asked him if they could incorporate in Turkey under it. Ted starts the Turks off with an affordable Hatfield boxlock to be imported by his brother Tim, but then convinced them to make a classic game gun built along the lines of a Holland and Holland Royal”. Hope this helps.
