Guns International #: 101621272
Seller's Inventory #: 4198
There is quite a lot of pitting in both bores in the first half of the barrels but nothing really deep to my eye. The barrels are massive thick with plenty of room to have this removed if one wanted.
This is an extremely high quality and high end gun from approximately 1860.
This gun is on the same level as any Boss, Purdey, or Holland of the period. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4198 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection.

Charles Lancaster 14ga. with classic slide and tilt patent
Description: Vintage Cases - This is a fabulous gun that features one of my favorite English patents to open the breech. You operate the underlever like a Jones lever but as you do this the barrels slide directly away from the breech for about 3/8" then the barrels drop down opening the gun. Closing the gun it is quite trick to watch, the barrels slide back tight against the breech as the lever is closed. Email me and I will email you back a video that shows the magic of this fine shotgun. There is quite a lot of pitting in both bores in the first half of the barrels but nothing really deep to my eye. The barrels are massive thick with plenty of room to have this removed if one wanted. This is an extremely high quality and high end gun from approximately 1860.
