Serial number 144XX. 2 1/2" chambers, 28" barrels, fixed choke (cyl/mod), single trigger. Wrist breaker, cock on closing, 9 pin bar action side lock, with cocking indicator. 85% coverage medium rose and scroll engraving on lock, retains 40% case color on left lock, 20% case color on right lock. "Twelve- Twenty" in gold on both locks. Bottom of action shows fantastic medium rose and scroll engraving with gold "Charles Lancaster, London" retaining no case color. Trigger guard bow retains 30% bright blue. The number "2" indicating 2 of a pair, showing at back of barrel, brake lever, bottom of trigger guard tang and at Purdy-type forend plunger. Barrels retain high percentage quality reblue, fading lettering, has not been picked up. Bores are excellent. Barrels ring true, action is tight and on face with and without forend and ejectors are timed. Bore diameters .727 right, .727 left. Wall thickness at 3" from breech .108 right, .110 left; 9" from breech .045 right, .046 left; 9" from muzzle .027 right, .030 left. total restriction is .002 right (cylinder) and .015 left (modified). Chopper lump barrel joining. Safety is not positive (may be missing spring). Crisp multi-point checkering on splinter forend. Matching checkering pattern on straight grip butt.
