SN. 1555x.
Cal: 12ga.
27" fluid steel bris, 2-3/4" chambers, that have plain concave tapered top rib with missing front bead.
Tops of brls engraved "JOSEPH LANG & SON, 102 NEW BOND STREET LONDON" on right and "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO. NEW YORK. U.S.A" on left.
Min. Wall Thickness: .0244RD .026(L). Bore Diameter: .729(Both). Bore Restriction: .001(R) .009(L)
Breech ends of brls with small ring of engraving and wedge of scroll on top rib.
Bbl flats with proof marks and SN ahead of flats. Left tube engraved "FOR 2-3/4" SHELL ON BOTTOM".
Splinter forearm with lightly engraved Anson type push bottom release and iron is checkered in point pattern with small diamond escutcheon.
Keylock full sidelock action is beautifully and richly casehardened and engraved with large gold inlaid Setter on left, Pointer and Setter on right, surrounded by light scroll and engraved "JOSEPH LANG & SON" at front of locks. Bottom of action with bust of Retriever inlaid and surrounded by scroll in about 35% coverage. Br fences are nicely beaded and lightly scroll engraved as is the blued top lever and top tang. "SAFE" inlaid in gold ahead of the engraved safety slide. The blued long tang trigger guard with burst of scroll and border engraving on bow, SN and scroll at tang.
Nicely figured English Walnut buttstock, carved teardrops behind locks, is checkered in two point pattern through the wrist, and terminates with a solid red Pachmayr brand pad.

Cased in what appears to be its original light brown canvas and leather Abercrombie and Fitch case with large makers trade label on top and nickel plated accessories. 

CONDITION: Exceptionally fine as custom finished, perhaps by Abercrombie & Fitch. Brls retain about 98% of their beautiful rust blue, a couple of light scratches ahead of the forearm on the left side and towards breech end on top. Custom forearm is sound and near mint with only minor impressions. Receiver retains virtually all of its fine bone and charcoal caschardening with highly detailed gold inlays which show no wear. Trigger guard and top lever retain nearly all of their proper rust blue finish. Custom buttstock is excellent to near mint with only minor handling marks. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are excellent, though left ejector is live. Case is very good to excellent with minor losses.
