L.C. Smith 20 Gauge Ideal Ejector 28" W/ Hunter One Single Trigger.
Description: L.C. Smith Ideal Grade 20 Gauge. There were 25812 Ideal grade L. C. Smith guns made and 3578 of those built in 20 Gauge. This one is even a rarer configuration with 28" barrels and a Hunter One single trigger. The pad is a recent addition, however the factory plate and screws are included in the sale should the new owner wish to return the gun to original. The gun was built in either 1913 or 1919 and remains in very good original condition. The action is engraved in the factory oak leaf and relief acorn with strong case color. The trigger and the ejectors are both mechanically sound, auto safe, screws good, blue on guard and furniture are worn but original. The barrels are 28" London Steel with mirror bores and strong blue, roll marks are clear with sharp edges. Bores measure .610 and .614 with chokes of roughly Mod/ ImpMod, exact: .020 Right and .028 Left, chamber is 2 3/4". The stock is an open handed pistol grip, factory wood on both ends, 14 1/2" length of pull to a Silvers pad, 2 3/4" drop at heel and 1 5/8 drop at comb, factory plate and screws included, original holes and stock was not cut or re-profiled, factory finish, nice chequering that is slightly hand worn and there are light handling marks, 6lbs 7oz. The Ideal guns came out in 1913 and the last were built in 1950. In 1913 the gun cost 37.00 plus options. By the end they were 138.00 and ejectors, single triggers and beavertail fore ends were standard. These are wonderful little American guns. Consignment.
