L.C. Smith Field Grade 12 Gauge - FACTORY 98%, SST EJECTORS, 30" BARRELS
Description: L.C. Smith Field Grade 12 Gauge Shotgun FACTORY 98%, SST, EJECTORS, 30" General Specs: LC Smith, Year 1925, 12 Gauge, 8lbs 1oz, SxS Serial Number: FE86033 RARE GUN!!! ONE OF 127,255 EVER MADE! I just had to do that...again! I do have a lot of rare guns I list, but this is not one of them. The only thing special about this Elsie Field Grade is that it is factory original and a strong, vivid, 98% condition gun. Made in 1925 by the Hunter Arms Co. when some of their best post 1913 guns came to be, it is a Field Grade that must have been used just a little, well cared for and put away under lock and key. It is an amazing find in a Field Grade that are almost always well worn. Weighing 8lbs. 1oz., balanced perfectly 3/8" forward of the hinge pin with 30" F/XF choked barrels, with a full length unaltered stock with great modern shooting dimensions, this is a gun that could be used to measure what a L.C. Smith would have looked like in the late 1920's. The action is tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face, all mechanics are as new, the bores are perfect mirrors without any sort of blemish, near perfect screws, trigger that functions without flaw, super strong, perfectly timed ejectors, delightful trigger pulls...there is nothing wanting on the gun. What a fantastic big 12 for waterfowl, late season pheasant hunts, turkey, and a smooth swinging clays gun. Shoot RST speader loads to open things up, or have us alter the chokes to your specs. Being a 12ga. it is an affordable and fine example of the quality known of vintage American guns from the days when makers still cared. This type of Elsie will always be in strong demand and is a fine investment quality firearm. Thanks for looking!
