The lettering on the top of the barrels is crisp and raised, and the bores are bright. The wall thickness (top/side/bottom) for the right barrel at 9” from muzzle is 035/.027/.035 and at the middle of the barrel is .035/.030/.035; the left barrel is .035/.030/.035 and .037/.037/.037, respectively. Length of pull from the front trigger to the end of the recoil pad is 14”. The stock is without cracks, which is often a problem with LC Smiths and other vintage side locks, and the wood at the interface with the action is solid. The vintage shotgun is properly restored to bring it back to a condition similar to or better than it would have been in after 5 to 10 years of use by the original owner. The finish is hand rubbed stock oil. The barrels are re-blued using the slow rust blue process. The color case hardening was done by Classic Guns in Crete, IL. The inspection period is 7 days from receipt by buyer. Also, it carries a 30-day warrantee, during which the seller will have any mechanical problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and the return shipping cost. Seller has fired this shotgun on skeet and sporting clay ranges using factory 2-3/4” target loads. However, for any vintage shotguns it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by a professional gunsmith before firing. The seller will ship this gun in a hard case; shipping fee is $40.
