LC Smith Specialty Grade 12ga
Description:
This is a collector quality, high grade side by side shotgun with long barrels and tight chokes. Made by LC Smith in 1916, it is one of only 5,032 Specialty Grades ever made. It has 30" barrels, great bores, the chokes measure full and extra full. Stock dimensions are 1 5/8 X 2 3/4 X 14". Weight is 7.6 lbs, it uses extractors. The gun locks up tight, ribs appear to be tight, chambers gauge just under 2 3/4". I am listing a 20ga today that is marked 2 3/4" and it gauges exactly the same. There was a crack in the stock. I sent it to Carpenter's Gunsmithing in Ohio and the stock have been repaired and reinforced. I test ford it after getting it back. This was a $500 repair, and it should be fine to shoot from here on out. The last 2 pictures are of the crack after the repair. The engraving is beautiful, a hint of case colors remain. Barrel blue and wood finish are very good showing typical handling marks. I do not see and other cracks or dents. This is a very fine, un-molested, high grade LC, something that is getting hard to find. Priced to sell.
