Description: ORIGINAL HUNTER ARMS CO. L.C. SMITH GRADE 1 OR NO. 1 20GA. HAMMERLESS SHOTGUN, CIRCA 1910. Serial number "2149R", circa 1910. 26" barrels choked improved modified and full. Double triggers. 95% original blue on fluid steel barrels. Mint bore and chambers with no dings or dents. Two line "Hunter Arms Co./ Fulton, New York" on rear of two piece rib. Traces of case colors remaining on receiver turning to bright untouched white with NO refinishing. Crisp Grade 1 engraving on receiver and sideplates with excellent screws. All matching serial numbers on forend, tang, barrels and watertable. Besides patent dates the grade "1" stamped on watertable as well. Photos of watertable and barrel flats as well as inside of forend attest to it's original excellent condition as this gun has never been abused or altered in any way. Buttstock and forend are all original wood with original crisp checkering. Forend with ebony forend cap. Original stock varnish is bubbling in some spots but should clean to excellent(probably from heat source). Slight handling marks normal. Slight hairline to left side of wrist just under thumb safety one inch long and does NOT go through(very old). 14" length of pull over hard rubber buttplate with tip of toe missing(all wood accounted for). Double triggers. Lifters. Locks up tight as a drum with lever right of center. Normal modern stock dimensions so no need to compensate for drop. Nice original example of L.C. Smith Grade 1 20ga. ready to be shot today at birds or Vintager event. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
