Lefever Nitro 16 Gauge – 98% FACTORY FINISHES, NICE GUN!, AFFORDABLE, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Lefever, Year 1939, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 6oz, Chokes LM/F, LOP 14 1/4", DAH 3", DAC 1 3/4" Serial Number: 347547 The Lefever Nitro was a creation from the Ithaca Gun Co. to provide the average shotgunner and well-made shotgun at a price that every person could afford. Because they were affordable, there were a lot of them sold, but most are 12ga. guns. There are far fewer seen in the delightful 16ga. like this one made in 1939 and weighing just 6lbs. 6oz. with the 28” LM/F choked barrels. Because they were affordable, they were hard used by most shooters gathering meals and enjoying the outdoor world hunting upland birds, waterfowl, rabbits, and squirrels. Almost all that you see offered for sale are well worn with cracked wood, little finish remaining, short stocks, pads, and even rust and pitting. This gun is in exceptional factory original condition, retaining 98% barrel blue, 96% case color, excellent screws, mechanically excellent with the barrels tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun, wood is without cracks or repairs and still has most of the factory finish and checkering. The bores are perfect mirrors and there are not dents or dings. This is just a great vintage American side x side small gauge shotgun ready to adorn your gun cabinet, bust some clay targets this summer, and to go for a walk afield this fall. You won’t find a nicer gun at anywhere near this price, and she will serve you well for another 80 years to come. Thanks for looking!
