Rare and unusual likely Joseph Loy Engraved Lefever CE 10ga
Description: Very unusual early CE Grade gun made in the 12,xxx SN range that must have hung around the factory for a long time as it has a number of much later features. This gun a 30" Damascus barreled 10ga with pushbutton forend. The gun was made for the rare forend ejector system, then converted to in-frame ejectors at a later date. Based on the SN, it would most likely have a pivot opener, but it has the later top lever opener. Made with capped pistol grip buttstock with tear drops behind locks and later short trigger guard tang. The stock does have a later ventilated pad which is very old and hard and beginning to crumble at bit. Most likely engraved by Joseph Loy. This gun remains in good overall condition needing some minor restorative efforts. The barrels retain about 30% of their original pattern and could easily be restored. The action shows strong engraving with no case colors remaining. There is a small chip on the bottom right stock finger which should be repaired, otherwise stocks are sound with checkering having thinned. Bores are very good. Mechanics are functioning. These higher grade Lefevers are hard to find. This gun will clean up beautifully as it appears to be "as found" and needs some minor cleaning and restoration to bring it back to its former glory. This gun is priced at $sale pending shipped. Please dont hesitate to contact me at (704) 280-2382 with any questions or reasonable offers on this Lefever.
