Beautiful Simson-Merkel Over Under O/U shotgun

This is a pristine example of a Simson over/under 12 gauge, 28 inch barrel shotgun, made in East Germany in 1960. Identical to the prewar Simson and Merkel shotguns both in configuration and the level of craftsmanship. This is an export model, as denoted by number 1 inside a double circle. These were specifically made for Western Europe and US market. The condition of this shotgun is stunning - blueing is at 100% with no wear evident. Case colors on the receiver are vivid - like the day it left the factory. They are at 99% with a small spot of wear on the right side. Nice engraving on the receiver as well. Wood is near mint with a tight tiny hairline crack on the right side of the upper forearm - probably from over tightening of the screw. Perfect bores and butt plate. I don't think this shotgun was ever fired  as I see no evidence of wear. 
Simply beatutiful shotgun that is over 60 years old.
No cast.
Drop at comb is 1 11/16 inch
Drop at heel is  2 7/8 inch.
I believe these were made with IM chokes.
