Merkel over-and-under shotguns are among the finest German-made sporting arms, and this 201E 16-gauge is a particularly rare and desirable example. Known for exceptional fit, finish, and craftsmanship, Merkel O/Us are highly sought after — especially in the 16-gauge configuration, which is seldom found.
This gun features 28" barrels choked Improved Cylinder / Modified with a solid rib, delivering precise and reliable performance. The double triggers are crisp, with an articulated front trigger for added control, and automatic ejectors function flawlessly. The straight-grip stock is fitted with the original factory butt plate, and the three-piece forend completes a perfectly balanced configuration.
Cosmetically, this Merkel is stunning. The receiver and barrels display factory Teutonic engraving of traditional Prussian game scenes, signed by the factory engraver BB over a coined finish. Condition is exceptional — the gun appears unfired and comes complete with the original factory box. Every detail reflects the meticulous care and high standards of Merkel craftsmanship.
