#151186, A 28 Bore 1975 Gebruder Merkel O/U That was Made When They Were Still the Real Thing, A Model 201E Made in Suhl, Germany, Made on a 200 Series Action with a Kersten top lock plus double underlugs, A High Quality O/U Boxlock Ejector Game Gun, 26" Ejector Solid Rib barrels at .544 .007 & .022" (Imp.Cyl. & Full), Original 2 3/4" chambers and so marked, Single Selective trigger, Scalloped frame, Cocking indicators, Bolstered frame, 3 piece game forend, Straight English stock at 14 1/8 x 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" over a 1" Kick-Eez pad with a 1/4" spacer, 6 lbs. 7 oz., 80% coverage of 1975 period scroll and game scene engraving, 3 locking screws on key screws, It has 97% original barrel blue, 96% frame finish, Original stock finish is at 96%, The checkering is at 99%, The bores and chambers are excellent plus, It remains smack on the face. This Model 201E is a Gebruder Merkel from the renowned city of Suhl in a period when they built well-made guns with all the mechanical features of their Pre-War guns. It has great weight; nice stock dimensions and is a very good value for the money from the great era of everything Suhl, Germany. We also have a 20 bore and a 16 bore Model 201E from the same source that are nearly identical.
