28 gauge Merkel 280E featuring an Anson & Deeley scaled and scalloped boxlock action with coin finish, Greener cross bolt, bushed strikers, and single non selective trigger. Turkish walnut straight stock with diamond grip and splinter forend. 28-inch barrels with a solid file cut concave rib, with brass bead front sight and fixed chokes, IC/M. This is a fantastic game gun for upland birds. Engraved by master engraver Olaf Weiss. His initials, O.W., appear on the left side of the action underneath two bounding rabbits surrounded by foliate and scroll border. The right side of the action features two woodcock in flight over a marshy woodland with scroll border. Bluing shows signs of use towards the muzzle. Stock condition is good with some wear around the scalloped action. Small handling marks on stock and some worn checkering.
