Remington Model 11 WWII Riot Shotgun
Description: Here is our genuine, unaltered, WWII Remington Model 11 riot shotgun. Its serial number 464660 (which is on both the receiver and barrel). This is an earlier model built in June 1942 as indicated by the code on the barrel “P L”. Because it is an earlier model it also has a commercial-grade polished blue finish and an “engraved” game scene, later models had a “brushed” finish and receivers were plain. This one has the proper martial markings, “U. S.” and “flaming bomb” stamper on the left side of the receiver and top of the barrel. The barrel is 20-inch cylinder bore, bead front sight. Other barrel markings included the date code mentioned above. The barrel also has other letters and symbols that I am assuming are factory inspection symbols. It should be noted too that the difference between the barrel date and the vintage of the gun rarely varied by more than a few months. The top of the barrel just ahead of the receiver was stamped “U. S.” and Ordnance Department “flaming bomb.” The stock is a plain, unadorned oil finished wood and there is no grove on the fore-end. The inside of the forearm has the proper decaled information on how to set the friction rings. Most stocks were serially numbered to match the receiver but the number cannot be seen unless the stock is removed and it fits much too tight for me to attempt to do that and possibly damage it. Note the serial number on the end of the fore-end. Note the scratch on the “D” of the “MODEL 11” bolt Please look at the pictures closely as I am selling as is. I have not shot this weapon; however, it appears to be in very good or better condition. Need more photos? We got 'em!
