This gun, as well as other US shotguns and hand guns,will be at the Wannemaker show in Tulsa Nov. 9th and 10th....island 30B will be at the Wannemaker show in Tulsa Nov. 9th and 10th....island 30B .
This shotgun was made just before Pearl Harbor and our entrance into WWII . Canfield's Military Shotgun states that there were only 1420 of these made...Very early as this serial number is from Late in 1941.... On the bottom of the barrel you can see where the choke designation was changed from 4 to 0.....meaning Cylinder bore. ( Likely taken off of the assembly line and made into one of the first trench guns...) No doubt about it having the original finish. The wood looks great.... like it was never in a war...
Sling is marked RIA 1941
You can see that the left side of the receiver is marked with the proper RLB and Ord bomb, as well as UNITED STATES PROPERTY. The bolts in the bayonet lug appear to have been replaced.
This weapon would fit great into any collection and I have always been proud to show it off to anyone....I think that you would be too. Thank you for looking.
