Cased pair of EJ Churchill Premier 12 bore self-opening sidelock ejector guns with 25" barrels. Gun 1 is choked improved cylinder and modified with the second set of barrels choked full and full. Gun 2 is choked skeet and modified with the second set of barrels choked cylinder and cylinder. Length of pull of 15 3/8” over a checkered butt.
Straight hand grip, single trigger on a square bar action, pin-less locks, auto-safety, cross-filed raised Churchill rib, small brass front bead, hold open top lever, gold inlaid "SAFE" ahead of the safety catch, gold inlaid XXV on the rib, gold inlaid “1” and “2” on the top lever, rib, and forend iron tip, gold lined cocking indicators, vacant gold oval, drop points, maker's name in banners on both sides, double beaded trigger guard, an Anson push button forend release, checkered splinter forend and wrist with mullered borders. The guns are housed in a maker’s toe-under leather case with burgundy baize, maker’s label, two sets of snap caps, key, two-piece cleaning rod, jag, mop, and a brass brush. The extra set of beavertail forend barrels for each gun fit in the case. Circa early 1960s guns proofed in London at 3 ¼ tons with 2 ¾” chambers that measure the same.
Embellished with the very recognizable Churchill's Premier grade small scroll engraving. Case color hardened action and blued furniture. About 80% case colors remain on gun 1, gun 2 at about 60% with bottom straps silvering on both guns. Darker exhibition grade walnut stocks. Crisp and clean checkering and excellent stocks with minimal sign of field use in the form of some scratches. Excellent bores and bluing on barrels. Top lever at center position on gun 1 and slightly right of center on gun 2. Both guns remain on face and ejectors are in time.
