Both guns are built on boxlock actions with gold-plated internals, double gold triggers, ejectors, and non-automatic safeties. Chambered for 3" shells, they are fitted with 30" blued barrels marked “1” and “2” in gold on the ribs, each set tightly choked full and full (.036"/.036"). Dimensions are identical between the pair, with 1.375" drop at comb, 1.625" drop at heel, and a 15.875" length of pull to leather-covered pads (14.5" to wood). Each weighs 6 lbs 7.5 oz and balances with exceptional liveliness. The coin-finished actions are masterpieces of Italian engraving, featuring 85% coverage of deep relief scrollwork paired with bulino game scenes. The bottoms of the actions, trigger guards, and top tangs are decorated with bulino portraits of pheasants, while the scroll engraving flows elegantly across the lock plates and fences. Each gun is signed by Tomasoni at the trigger guard, affirming their authenticity as works of exhibition-level artistry. The blued barrels remain in near-new condition, retaining 99% of their original finish. Exhibition-grade walnut stocks are fashioned in English straight-hand style with semi-beavertail forends, sharp checkering, leather-covered recoil pads, and blank gold initial ovals at the toes. The forends also carry the Perugini & Visini crest inlaid in gold. Wood is beautifully figured, with only the faintest handling marks. Condition is excellent overall, with both guns mechanically perfect—bores clear, triggers crisp, ejectors strong and in-time, and actions smooth and tight. This is a rare and extraordinary pair from Perugini & Visini, combining the technical perfection of their gunmaking with the artistry of Claudio Tomasoni.
