Purchased in 1995 and consigned by the estate of the original owner, serial 12-00510 has two serialed barrel sets (28-inch fixed M/F & 26-inch fixedIC/M), each with 2.75-inch chambers and ejectors. Features include a "1½" frame, mechanical safety, single mechanical trigger with Miller-type selector and color case action/forend iron. STOCK: Shaped from well-figured walnut, the splinter is dressed with bordered wrap checkering. The butt has drop points, skeleton plate and a grip cap. ENGRAVING: The faithful DHE pattern incorporates pointing dogs and a trio of pheasant among intricate leafy scroll. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with 28-inch barrels) is 6.8 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.15 inches, drops are 1.35 and 2.25 inches, and cast off is approximately .20-inch. CONDITION: Bores are strong and bright. Both barrel sets are full on face. Ejectors kick properly. Barrel blue is at least 95 percent with two freckles on the longer set. Colors are strong. Splinter is 98 percent. Butt is approximately 70 percent, with a gouge on left, significant indentation in the center of the skeleton and finish loss/freckling to the skeleton frame itself. INCLUSIONS: A leather case with felt interior, maker's label and snaps is present and in excellent condition. The original purchase receipt is also included.
