For your consideration is the Holy Grail of Parker Collecting. A Small bore, high grade gun with long original length barrels. This configuration is so highly coveted by collectors and shooters alike today. The gun is a Parker BHE Grade 28ga and was built on a "0" Frame. It features 32" Acme steel barrels choked Imp. Mod and full. The gun has 2-3/4" chambers. The gun has a gold plated single trigger, automatic ejectors, and automatic safety. The gun was ordered with a beavertail forend and has a beautifully figured buttstock with long LOP, and great dimentions. The LOP is 15" over an older Hawkins Pad, the DAC is 1-3/8, and the DAH is 2-1/4. The gun is beautifully engraved in later BHE pattern with setters on right in game scene, setter and pointer on left, and well done quail on the bottom all surrounded by well cut Parker scroll. The gun appears all original with the exception of the wood which was restored long ago. The barrels retain approximately 60% original blue with some very minor freckling on the outside, bores are bright and shiny. The action retains traces of original color, engraving is mostly crisp with the exception of a few flecks on the left side from palm sweat. Mechanics are crisp.
The gun is accompanied by a PGCA letter outlining it as found today. There is another letter from noted dealer, Jack Puglisi wherein he details the gun with the exception of an error noting it having a vent rib, which it does not have. There is also a 2002 dated letter from dealer Bruce Hunt wherein he describes having purchased this exact gun and two others from early collector Emil Linder of Worcester, MA. The letter details his recollection of this gun and Emil's other notable guns. There is an additional reference to this gun in Larry Baer's book identifying it as having been owned by Clark Gable on page 83.
The price on this extraordinary Parker is $67,500. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions - (704) 280-2382. We have many more photos available.
