PARKER 12 GAUGE GHE WITH 32' BARRELS
Description: SOLD PENDING FUNDS I have a very nice 1911 Parker GHE 12 Gauge Shotgun with 32” Damascus Steel Barrels on a #2 frame for sale. This gun came to me restored with new case colors and the stock with an updated finish. The stock is very of high grade American Walnut with great grain. There has been a professional repair for a minor chip to the toe of the stock, the original butt plate is undamaged. I had the original 32” Damascus Barrels refinished. They are absolutely beautiful. Extensive barrel measurements were done by the gunsmith that performed the refinish. They are as follows. Both chambers are 2 5/8”, so lite 2 ¾” shells are fine to use as I have done since I have owned the gun. Chokes are .041 and .034. Wall thickness is great, with .130 in both barrels at the end of the chamber, .121 at the end of each forcing cone. The minimum wall thickness is .038 and .036, 5” from the muzzle. The LOP is 14 ¼”, DAH is 2 ¾” very shootable dimensions. For those familar with Parker Guns the barrel flats are stamped with Walter King inspection notation. I will include a Parker Collectors Association letter on the gun. The letter indicates that the DAH as ordered was either 2 ¾’’ or 3”. It measures 2 ¾”. Also, of interest in the letter was that I was ordered by a Lt. in the Army in 1911. A check of the 1900 Census indicates that Lt. Frank Lahan who ordered the gun was a cadet at West Point in 1900. One wonders if Lt. Lahan served in WWI. By this time in Parker production fluid steel barrels were the norm and Damascus Barrels had to be specified in the order. Apparently, Lt. Lahan did not care for the new “fluid steel barrels”. This is a great Sporting Clays, Waterfowl and Turkey gun. The tasteful refinish will protect the metal and wood for years to come. 32” Parker Guns are not common, and this is a great example of one. Thanks for looking.
