Parker Bros. Grade 3, Frame size 2, SXS 12ga SHOTGUN. Here is an example of a shotgun used in the field as it was intended. Continue to use as is, or improve to suit your tastes.
Here is the Good, Bad, and the Ugly. CONDITION: The Good: Here is a great old quality SxS, with the rare bonus of an extra set of barrels ordered and fitted at the factory. (Factory Letter Provenance). It is a Grade 3 with beautiful engraving, little or no case colors. Manual ejection, Manufactured 10/22/1906, Shipped 2/9/1907. Two sets of Titanic Steel Barrels. All bores shiny and bright. First set is, 28" 2 3/4" chambers (RT hand = Cylinder L Hand = Modified) Second set, 30" 2 3/4" chambers (Rt hand = Modified L Hand = Full). Both barrels and both Forearms serialized to receiver. Walter King barrel inspection stamp. Both barrel sets lock up tight on face. As with all guns, this one should be checked by a qualified gunsmith before use. The Bad: There is slight pitting on 28" barrel set, with forearm missing top edge eschurion. Brass bead front sight. Nice patina overall. Bright bores. There also is slight pitting on the 30" barrel set. Complete forearm. Ivory front sight. Nice patina overall. Bright bores. No case hardening visible. The Ugly: Here we have the downside? Stock has been altered and repaired over the years, it is fully functional as is, but the old girl deserves more. I have a stockmaker that can repair if possible ($500-600) or full replacement depending on fancy grade selected ($600 -1200) Kody Kearcher has done a lot of work on Parkers and can be trusted for this project. The Skeleton butt plate has been replaced by and old butt pad. If you are in the market for a really excellent SxS shotgun that won't just sit in the safe, one that you can use and appreciate right now, and correct what you want over time. The Ugly: Here we have the downside? Stock has been altered and repaired over the years, it is fully functional as is, but the old girl deserves more. I have a stockmaker that can repair if possible ($500-600) or full replacement depending on fancy grade selected ($600 -1200) Kody Kearcher has done a lot of work on Parkers and can be trusted for this project. The Skeleton butt plate has been replaced by and old butt pad. Here is the Good, Bad, and the Ugly. CONDITION: The Good: Here is a great old quality SxS, with the rare bonus of an extra set of barrels ordered and fitted at the factory. (Factory Letter Provenance). It is a Grade 3 with beautiful engraving, little or no case colors. Manual ejection, Manufactured 10/22/1906, Shipped 2/9/1907. Two sets of Titanic Steel Barrels. All bores shiny and bright. First set is, 28" 2 3/4" chambers (RT hand = Cylinder L Hand = Modified) Second set, 30" 2 3/4" chambers (Rt hand = Modified L Hand = Full). Both barrels and both Forearms serialized to receiver. Walter King barrel inspection stamp. Both barrel sets lock up tight on face.
