Parker Bros. VH 12g. Shotgun.
High Condition.
Documented 1948 Remington service
Description:
Here is a very nice Parker 12g. VH with 30" barrels on a 1-1/2 frame.
The gun was originally made in 1925 in Meriden, and was then sent back to Remington in 1948 to be refurbished. Included is a whole bunch of correspondance between the owner of the gun and Remington about the work that was done. From the initial quoting of the job to completion of the work, which included: Replace stock grip cap, Remove dent from barrel, clean up barrel scuff at muzzle, re-blue barrels, Refinish guard bow, polish and case harden forend metal and frame, thorough cleaning for charge of $68.45. There is no mention of any stock refinishing work, The forend wood looks completely Meriden original but the checkering on the stock wrist appears to be recut and it does have the Remington style borders on the checkering. The buttplate is original Meriden. And the grip cap is marked "Ilion" as it was part of the repair work. The barrels have the appropriate repair date code on them. There is NO WEEP hole in the bottom rib as commonly seen with Remington blue jobs.
The gun remains in very good condition with little wear to the metal parts. The stock shows normal marks and dents from use. The bores are great. The gun weighs 7 -1/2 lbs. It is choked M/F and chambers are 2-5/8" long. The stock LOP is 14-1/8" and drops are 1-1/2" and 3".
The price for the gun and all documentation is $3,000 shipped to your FFL or a C&R. Payment by Check or MO. I can accept some forms of electronic payments, but not credit cards directly.
