Parker Brothers , Grade 3 Under Lifter
Description: For your consideration , Parker Brothers Grade 3 Under Lifter Serial # 17210 ordered on December 15 ,1880 ! It is a Grade 3 and very shootable as is using Vintagers / Low Compression Loads , Minimum Barrel Wall Thickness is 46 Thou. in the Left Barrel and 44 Thou. in the right measured on the Hosford Barrel Wall Thickness Gauge ! It is not without a few bumps and Bruises but overall for a 143 Year old gun it is very solid ! The Bores are very good with a lite hazing just ahead of the chambers and the Damascus Barrels are very nice and would be absolutely gorgeous with a refinish ! The wood has very minimal checkering left on the Stock and Forend as can be seen by the pictures and there is a very old repair as there is an old crack on the left side of the stock with a Dowel pin placed into the bottom of the stock at the center of the Ball Grip ! It appears very strong and the wood is tight to the action ! The gun locks up tight and remains tight with the forend on or off of the gun ,with the gun open there is slight left to right movement at the hinge ! This is a 12 Gauge built on a # 2 Frame with 30" Damascus Barrels and weighs in at 8LB. 1 Oz. ! The gun retains its original Skeleton Butt Plate with checkering and is almost exactly as the letter describes ,it is an ounce or so off in weight and the Stock measures 13 7/8 instead of 14" Other than that it is as it left the Factory on Dec. 16, 1880 according to the letter in my photos , the engraving has been buffed a little by a previous owner cleaning the gun ,I suppose but is still very visible and it has a Beautiful Woodcock engraved on the front half of the bottom of the receiver ! The shooting measurements for this gun are DAC 2 1/16 ,DAH 2 1/2 and LOP is 13 7/8 ! I am asking $1395.00 Plus $30.00 Shipping to your C&R or FFL , it can be shipped direct to the buyer as an Antique provided that is legal in the state you live in ! I will be happy to answer any questions you might have about this gun or send other pictures via Cell Phone should there be anything you would like to see ! Thank You for considering my Parker !
