Parker CHE 12ga. - FACTORY LETTER, FIGURED WOOD, GREAT GUN, Vintage Firearms Inc
Description: General Specs: Parker, Year 1922, 12 Gauge #2 frame, 7lbs 9oz, Chokes IM/F, LOP 14 1/4", DAH 2 1/2", DAC 1 9/16" Serial Number: 199078 The CHE Grade is when things start to get interesting in the Parker line. The wood on this gun is very nicely figured Circassian walnut, the engraving is much more detailed than the lower grade DH Grade, and the degree of fit and finish definitely makes the CHE a premium gun. This particular CHE, sn199078 made in 1922, is in a class of its own as it has unique engraving for a CHE, as this is the only Parker CHE I have seen with a pheasant engraved on the bottom of the action. With only 789 CH 12ga. guns made with fluid steel barrels compared to 12,000 steel barreled DH grade guns, the CHE is truly in the realm of a rare gun to find, especially in the condition we see here. Look closely at the photos and you will see an impeccable restoration of this fine Parker, completed by master gunmaker Brad Bachelder in Grand Rapids Michigan. The gun retains all original parts and has been fully restored to its original, historically correct finishes, with bone and charcoal case color, rust blued barrels, charcoal blued trigger guard, and hand-rubbed oil finish. The engraving is sharp and clear, screws excellent, wood to metal fit is superb, the barrels are tight on the breech face like a new gun with the top lever just right of center. The 30” Acme Steel barrels have mirror bores, tight ribs, and are factory choked IM/F. The fine Circassian walnut stocks have a hand-rubbed oil finish, and importantly, still retains the original skeleton steel buttplate. This is a stunning Parker ready for your pursuit of game or high scores in the clay target world. Parkers have always been a good investment, with excellent, unique guns like this bringing a premium as there are few you will ever see this nicely restored. There is a very high cost for such a fine restoration and the wait time is well over a year. This gun is ready to go right now! Amongst my shooting companions that embrace double shotguns there are those that like ‘em around 7 1/2lbs. with a slight weight forward balance. These are the waterfowlers, turkey hunters, pheasant blockers, and especially the sporting clays crowd. THIS IS THAT GROUP’S TREASURE! This gun is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN with a 90-day mechanical warranty, as it has been Ultrasonic cleaned and thoroughly inspected inside and out. The details of the gun can be seen in the tables below.
