Parker D grade, five frame, top lever hammer 10 gauge with 34” barrels.
Description: SOLD pending funds. For your consideration, D grade, five frame, top lever hammer 10 gauge with 34” barrels. According to the Parker Order Book No. 1 #28319 was ordered by The Charles Parker Salesroom in New York, NY on July 15 1892. Per Order Book no. 11 it was a Quality 3 hammer, 10 gauge that featured Damascus steel barrels with a length of 34 inches. Stock configuration is pistol grip with a hard rubber buttplate. Chokes were patterned RH (175 #8 pellets in a 24” circle at 45 yards) and LH (200 #8 pellets in a 24” circle at 45 yards). According to Parker Stock book #11 its specifications were LOP 14 ¼”, DAH 2 5/8”. Weight 12 lbs and 5 ounces. The price was $125.00. The gun is in original condition with no repairs or restorations. The gun shows honest wear from being held and used in the field. Stock is solid and the checking is worn both on stock and forend from handling but the pattern is evidently there. Barrels are clean.. Screws are all very good with only minor hour glass slot damage to the screw under the receiver.. This is a rare five frame 10 gauge top lever gun with long barrels on an eight gauge frame.. This is a rarely seen example of a big gun from the Golden Era of waterfowl hunting and American gun making. This gun is clean, stout, heavy, solid, honest wear gun with only previous gun owner use in the field that needs nothing in regards to its condition. Stock measures according to the stock book.
