Parker DH 12 Gauge – ANTIQUE, HIGH FACTORY CONDITION, STUNNING! vintage firearms
Description: General Specs: Parker, 1897, 12 Gauge, 7lbs. 8oz., Chokes IC/M, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 5/8", DAC 1 1/2" Serial Number: 86021 Beyond a doubt we have found a treasure here! Examine the photos, read the specifications and you will realize this Parker has it all; high factory original condition, unaltered since leaving the factory as documented by the Parker Gun Collectors Association letter, super mechanics, stunning factory original wood, AND modern shooting dimensions, again noted in the PGCA letter. Parker shotguns become interesting in the DH Grade, with nice game scene engraving, figured wood, elaborate checkering, and skeleton butt plate as standard. They made a lot of them, about 12,000 with Titanic and Damascus steel barrels, so they are not hard to find. This gun, sn86021 circa 1897, is a well-cared-for Parker with excellent mechanics, highly figured, factory original French (?) walnut retaining the original skeleton buttplate and excellent shooting dimensions, ALL OF THESE ADDING UP TO MAKE THIS A RARE FIND. The Damascus barrels are gorgeous, retaining 98% of the factory original pattern, mirror shiny bores, tight ribs, FACTORY 2 ¾” CHAMBERS, barrels tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun. With factory bore diameters, no dents or dings, and plenty of wall thickness, these are safe to shoot with modern, moderate field loads. The action retains an astounding 98% factory original case color (fading but there), perfect screws and mechanics, and clear, sharp engraving. THE TOP LEVER IS CENTERED, WITH THE THUMB REST PORTION PURPOSELY BENT TO THE LEFT TO ALLOW FOR EASIER OPERATION, MUCH LIKE THE “FISHTAIL” TOP LEVERS FROM JUST A YEAR EARLIER’S PRODUCTION. The wood is factory original with the original finish, superb checkering, no cracks, fabulous figure, and modern shooting dimensions terminating in the factory skeleton buttplate. This Parker is currently cast on for a left-handed shooter. Our gunsmiths can easily bend the stock to neutral or slightly cast off for a right-handed shooter within a few days of purchase (or any other alterations you may want). Weighing 7 ½ pounds and balanced dead on the hinge pin, this is a dynamic handling 12-gauge Parker with factory IC/M chokes. You just don’t see antique Parkers like this. High condition, modern shooting dimensions, and choked for the upcoming upland bird season, this gun will also make an impression at your local vintage side x side events. Parkers like this only go up in value and represent a great investment opportunity that you can enjoy afield. The PGCA letter comes with the gun. See the specifications below. Thanks for looking.
