Parker DH 16 Gauge – HIGH CONDITION, NICE!, 6 1/4LBS., vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Parker, Year 1935, 16 Gauge, 6lbs 5oz, Chokes IC/M, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 3/4", DAC 1 5/8" Serial Number: 237149 Scan the internet and you will find few Parker DH 16-gauge guns for sale. Parker (and later Remington after they purchased Parker in 1934) only made a total of 1178 DH Grade guns in 16ga. with Titanic Steel barrels…very low production! They are beautifully engraved, well-appointed double guns usually having nice wood, checkering, and handling characteristics. So, what makes one worth more than the other? Details that contribute to value are condition, rare or unusual features, originality, all factory parts, and desirability to the present-day shooting community. This fine Parker, sn237149 manufactured in 1935, is a very special Parker DH, one of only 199 with 26” barrels. THAT IS RARE INDEED, AND FOR ALL THE QUAIL,GROUSE, AND WOODCOCK HUNTERS OUT THERE, A VERY DESIREABLE FEATURE. Weighing just 6 1/4lbs. and balanced perfectly between the hands, this little Parker is lightning fast to shoulder and a pleasure to carry all day afield. Factory choked at IC/M, this gun was ordered by a very knowledgeable upland bird hunter. This gun is exceptional in other ways as well. The engraving is amongst the best you will ever see on a Parker DH, with detailed scroll and game scenes, the bores are mirror shiny, the bore diameter is factory original, and all parts are original to the gun. THIS GUN IS FACTORY ORIGINAL IN EVERY WAY, with 97% factory blue on the barrels, 75% vivid case color on the action, perfect screws and wood-to-metal fit…even the wood finish is factory and still strong. The wood is nicely figured English walnut with a few field marks from use, but not a crack or split anywhere. The checkering is strong and sharp with proper mullered borders. The ribs are tight, and the barrels are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun and have 2 ¾” chambers. The stock dimensions are modern (we can bend the stock to your needs within 2 weeks of purchase) and THE GUN STILL RETAINS THE ORIGINAL SKELETON BUTTPLATE. Most of these guns have been cut and then a butt pad added…much less desirable. The mechanics are excellent and not a thing is needed for this gun to serve you well in the field. Look closely at the photos and you will see a Parker DH 16 gauge that is set apart from most; strong original finishes, unaltered since leaving the factory 86 years ago, perfect chokes for upland birds and clay target games, mechanically excellent, lightweight, and gorgeous wood and engraving. You rarely see a fine Parker small gauge gun with all of these desirable features combined. Now is the time to invest in a valuable tangible asset that will increase in value as you enjoy its use.
