Parker GH 12 Gauge with 32” Highly Figured Damascus Barrels – Beautifully Restocked by Wenig for Competition – READ ABOUT ITS MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
Description: *** SOLD *** A handsome Parker GH in very good shootable and cosmetic condition. Tight on face. Parker number 74842 has 32” highly figured Damascus barrels. It is a Number 2 grade built on the Number 2 frame. It has extractors, double triggers, and auto safety. *** The 32” barrels are made of Damascus steel. The chambers have been lengthened to 2-3/4”. The bores are shiny with only a little mild pitting. The barrels are topped by a raised solid concave crosshatched Damascus rib which has silver mid and front beads. The right barrel is bored 0.733 with a constriction of 0.033 for an Full choke. The left barrel is is also bored 0.733 with a constriction of 0.033 for Full choke. *** The pistol grip stock has a right hand palm swell for a firm grip and the factory pistol grip cap has been retained. The wood is highly figured American walnut from a recent professional restocking by Wenig. Checkering is crisp. The original stock and forearm are included. Length of Pull is 15-1/8” including a 1” recoil pad by 1-5/8” Drop at Comb by 1-5/8” Drop at Monte Carlo by 2-1/4” Drop at Heel. Cast off for the righthanded shooter. *** Now to Mystery Theater – This gun in in really great condition but someone in the past has added the number “2” to the front of the serial number so that it now reads 274842 . It is visible in the photos of the water table, barrel lug, and forearm iron but was not changed on the trigger guard. Parker people know that 274842 is outside of the serial number range of production. Is it a lunch box gun? Who knows? We can only guess. They also changed the rib label from “Damascus Steel” to “Titanic Steel”. To what end? It is important to note that the professional restocking was done recently by Wenig and was not part of the above changes. *** At the end of the day what we have is a very nice condition Parker GH ready for lots of shooting. It is a very handsome double with shootable dimensions set up for competition. *** Note that the photographs are part of the description. Not for sale where prohibited by state or local laws. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period and will only accept returns at buyer’s expense SOLD |
