Parker PH 12 Gauge – 1891, TIGHT AS NEW, GREAT BARRELS, NICE!, vintage firearms inc
Description: General Specs: Parker, Year 1891 Antique, 12ga #1 frame, 7lbs 11oz, Chokes M/IM, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 3/4", DAC 1 5/8" Serial Number: 64259 The fall hunting season is upon us and you want a Parker to add to your collection of fine shotguns for hunting and sporting clays events, but which one to choose? There are LOTS of Parker guns for sale, but most have issues of one sort or another, and some of the issues are serious. Many have barrels that have badly pitted bores, are loose on the hinge pin and rattle on the action’s breech face, and worst of all, thin barrel walls that make shooting dangerous. Others have broken stocks that have been repaired or replaced with improper stocks that just don’t look like a Parker shotgun. For those that want a Parker that is solid as a rock, mechanically excellent in every way, with all original parts, and a solid GUARANTEE FROM THE SELLER REGARDING THE GUN’S CONDITION, we offer you this Parker PH Grade 12ga. built in 1891 (an antique and can be shipped to any address in the U.S. without government control). This gun is built on the smaller #1 frame with 30” Twist Steel barrels choked Modified and Improved Modified and having excellent bores with only a hint of light frosting with the balance shiny and smooth. You can see the specifications of this gun below, but the minimum barrel wall thickness anywhere on the barrels is 32 thousandths which is very substantial. Additionally, the wood is original to the gun, has no cracks or repairs, and is beautifully restored to new with a hand-rubbed oil finish, with good shooting dimensions and terminating in the original Parker Dog’s head Butt Plate. This is a VFI CERTIFIED GUN with a 90-day mechanical warranty, having been completely stripped to its smallest part, all parts Ultrasonic cleaned and scrubbed, all inspected for function and integrity, lubricated and reassembled. The screws are excellent and properly “clocked” or timed, and the action has a pleasing grey/silver patina to it with traces of case color. VFI has rejointed the barrels to the action and they are tight on face and hinge pin like a new gun and the top lever is well right of center. This gun is solid and ready to shoot for another 144 years with proper care. The PH Grade had a judicious amount of nicely cut scroll engraving on the action and trigger guard and the engraving remains clear and sharp. THIS IS A VERY NICE PARKER! We invested almost $1500 into this gun (so you don’t have to!) making it an excellent example of an antique Parker that is ready to shoot and enjoy. We did not compromise in preparing this gun for its new home and we have priced the gun affordably. Isn’t it nice to know that you can buy this gun and not have any “fixing up” to do when you get it? The only thing we did not do was case color the action, as the engraving shows so well against the silvery grey cleaned up receiver. That can be done for you if you choose but is a cosmetic issue only. Thanks for looking!
