The Perazzi MX8B (Bunker) is a purpose-built competition shotgun designed for the demanding disciplines of Olympic bunker trap, ZZ, live pigeon shooting, and other high-performance target sports. Built on Perazzi's legendary detachable trigger group platform, the MX8B is renowned for its exceptional reliability, fast lock time, and superb handling. These qualities have made the MX8 series one of the most successful competition shotguns in the world.
Manufactured in 1998, this example is chambered in 12 gauge with 2.75-inch chambers and features 31.5-inch vent-rib barrels. The bottom barrel is threaded for Perazzi choke tubes, while the top barrel retains a fixed Light Full (.028") choke. The shotgun weighs 8 pounds 10.6 ounces, providing the stability and smooth swing characteristics preferred by serious target shooters.
Built on Perazzi's famous detachable trigger group action, the gun features a single non-selective trigger, ejectors, and non-automatic safety. The action, barrels, forend, and detachable trigger group are all serial-number matched, an important feature for collectors and competitors alike. Mechanically, the shotgun is in very good overall condition. The bores are clear, the action locks up tightly, the trigger is crisp with the bottom barrel firing first, and the ejectors are strong and in time.
The blued action is marked "Perazzi MX8B" on the left side and is fitted with a gold trigger. The vent-rib barrels are accompanied by an excellent selection of choke tubes, including one factory Perazzi #8 choke and four premium Teague choke tubes consisting of Modified, Light Improved Modified, Improved Modified, and Light Full, along with the original Teague choke wrench.
The shotgun is stocked with deluxe walnut in a competition configuration featuring a right-handed palm swell, target forend, and fully adjustable comb, allowing the gun to be precisely fitted to the shooter. Fine diamond-point checkering remains sharp throughout, and the stock is fitted with a black rubber recoil pad.
