Perazzi Mirage SCO upgrade 12 bore O/U field gun with straight grip, detachable trigger group, Interchangeable chokes, 28 inch,
like new
Description: This great handling SCO upgrade is like new, scalloped receiver, single drop-out trigger w/ v springs, Briley interchangable thinwall chokes (4 included), This configuration makes for a very versatile field gun that will turn heads for sure. The 28 inch, 1.50 kg barrels have excellent plus shiny bores. The straight grip stock (well sized, not too thin) with matching field forearm (schnable) are very finely checkered as is the butt. Finish on wood and metal are 98%+ with very few handling marks. Beautiful custom wood with great brown/black contrast and hi figure, both stock and forearm are definitely from the same blank. 14 1/4 X 1 3/8 X 1 5/8 over wonderful checkered butt. The Jere Davidson (the great, late master engraver that engraved armaments and knives for the for Saudi royal families and was one of the only allowed contract engravers of Purdey rifles) signed hand-engraving is exceptionally nice with 95% coverage with oak leaf carving and bulino game scenes. One of the best executed dogs with a pheasant I''ve seen in 30 years of collecting fine guns adorns the bottom of receiver. I dont beleive that even Galeazzi could not improve on that dog! This gun is very tight and has seen very little use over its last 40 years, It is very solid, everything works like new. Will include extra spring and firing pin set. I have shot this gun a couple of times at pheasants and sporting clays very effectively and it handles great, very dynamic at 7 pds, 12 oz. I have 10 other Perazzis now and just need to reduce my inventory a little. Comes in a fine, fitted leather Perazzi luggage case that was available for purchase in the early 80s, probably when upgraded. This is a whole lot of gun for the money, especially one engraved by a reknowned master engraver. It comes from the era when Perazzi's had much more hand filing and fitting, much more so than the last 15 years or so. Many years of of useful life left in her.
