Lovely William Powell & Sons 12ga Sidelock SxS Beautiful Wood

Beautiful vintage William Powell & Sons Sidelock 12ga with 30" barrels, color case hardened action, fine english rose & scroll, and absolutely stunning wood! William Powell & Sons is often referred to the Purdey's of Birmingham. This gun was made in 1897 and features double triggers, ejectors, well figured straight grip stock with original checkered horn plate, splinter forend, balanced nicely at 6lbs 10oz, just in time for hunting season. The gun is tight on face and the bores are excellent. Trigger pulls are crisp and the ejectors work perfectly. The wood is sound and appears to have an old repair on lower left head of the stock below the lock plate. Overall a wonderful example of a Powell from the late 1890s with lots of life left in her!
