A heritage true pair of cased Purdey side by side 12 bore self-opening sidelock ejector guns with 26 ½” Churchill style solid rib barrels. Both guns are choked improved cylinder and modified. 14 13/16" length of pull over checkered horn butt plates.
Both guns sport straight English stocks, double triggers on a square bar action, auto-safety, gold inlaid “SAFE” ahead of the traditional small button Purdey safety catch, single brass front bead, raised line cocking indicators, vacant gold ovals, drop points, removable striker discs, and housed in a motor case. The guns were proofed in London in 1977 with 2 3/4" chambers.
Relief engraved black leaves with game scene vignettes. Three flushing ruffed grouse, in poplars, on the right side, three bobwhite quail on the left side, and a lone woodcock on the underside on both guns. Case color hardened actions and blued furniture with some case colors remaining. Well figured walnut stocks with excellent checkering and wood. Pristine bores and excellent bluing on barrels other than some wear where the forend wood meets the barrels. Top lever slightly left of center on both guns. Both guns are on face and ejectors in time.
