Description: J. Purdey Rotary under lever double 12 ga, with 30" vivid damascus pattern Bbl with 2 1/2" chambers. Brightly case colored locks, hammers and receiver with high polished blue trigger guard . Nicely figured oil finished walnut stocks with period course checkering at wrist and forearm. Bright blue smooth butt plate. Mfg circa 1870's . Condition, Superb as English restored with sharp scroll & foliate engraving and sharp checkering. All metal finishes are as new. Very good bores with some very minor frosting . Stocks are excellent with a few minor impressions. Mechanically excellent. Housed in the Oak & leather partitioned case with full Purdey label. Original red lining is tattered in areas but remains fine.
