Purdey 12 bore sidelock non-ejector, serial number 12xxx,made in 1886. Bore measurements .735- & .735-. Wall thickness measurements 23,000+th & 23,000+th. 29” barrels 15” LOP / stock.

In 1880, Purdey introduced the famous self-opening sidelock action, designed by Frederick Beesley. An 1886 model would predate the addition of ejectors in 1888, making it a non-ejector and a piece of the company's technical evolution. The side-by-side sidelock action perfected in the 1880s is still produced today, a testament to its design.
