James Purdey 28 ga., "ExtraFinish" side by side masterpiece. Features 27" chopperlump barrels 2- 3/4" chambers. . This one of a kind special commission is a fabulous example of the world's most famous gunmaker paired with the high art engraving of one of the most accomplished engravers, signed G S Pedretti. A true collaboration of fine gun artistry! Wonderful diminutive small gauge showcases the incredible engraving of highly detailed shooting scenes and game birds surrounded by semi-relief vine and acanthus. The result is a visual delight to complement the style and form of this masterpiece. Stocked in fabulously figured Circassian walnut with deep black figure emblazoned against the dark honey color backdrop measures 1-3/8" comb, 2-1/4" heel, 14-1/4" LOP with slight cast off to checkered butt. Weighs just 5 lbs, 8oz. " James Purdey London England" in gold on the barrels and gold washed internals. Double triggers auto ejectors. This little jewel remains in fabulous condition. Cased in oak and leather with full complement of accessories. A masterpiece of form and function.
