Hammerless Sidelocks - A very nice Purdey built within months of the start of the first world war. Many English men lost their lives in this conflict and all the English gun makers lost many of their best talent. In this case Purdey was at its peak with all its best gunsmiths. This gun is in very nice condition and comes in its makers case. The dimensions are excellent for about 80% of my clients.

*This gun balances perfectly on the hinge pin. She comes up extremely natural and without effort.
*This Purdey is unique in that it has two major features from the gunmaker James Woodward. The 29"-barrel length which was promoted by Woodward and the patent cocking indicators Woodward is known for. The Ledger says "Boss on tumbler axles – they look like Woodward cocking-indicators."
