Guns International #: 100281006
Beautiful Purdey Game Gun 12 ga, minty with 28" barrels. Gun weighs 6 pounds, 12 ounces.
I bought this gun about a year ago, but only shot it once. It shoots and patterns beautifully. It is almost as new with very little use. Made about 1969, and cased in oak & leather as many were about that time instead of light case. Case alone now costs over $7,000.00! One of the nicest guns around with just right dimensions, chokes, etc. New cost from Purdey's now about $105,000.00.
Barrels look 100% outside, but a few small marks under forend when off. They are beautifully blued, are 28", choked 1/4 & 3/4. Minimum thicknesses are .035R and .038L. They measure .728 and are proofed for 1 & 1/4. Marked "J. Purdey & Sons" and "Audley House, South Audley St., London."
Action is beautifully case colored with 98-99% remaining (just silvering on edges of bar). Lock plates are 100% remaining. Hinge pines are silvering also. Trigger guard remains 99% nitre blue. Top lever 98%, with just silvering on top.
Stock is a very nice piece of french with just a few handling marks. Silver oval fitted. Stock measures 15" X 1&1/2 X 2", with 3/16ths cast off. Has standard Purdey leather covered pad.
Case is almost perfect with one or two small marks on outside. Charge label for this gun. I like this case, so if you already have one for this gun, I would keep it and sell gun for slightly less.
