Description:
Purdey 12 gauge. Purchased new by the consigning estate in 1962 at Abercrombie & Fitch, serial 26864 has 26-inch barrels (M/F, matted rib tapering to .140-inch, single bead, 2.75-inch, ejectors). Features include an automatic safety, cocking indicators and a single trigger (non-select). DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.2 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.45 inches, drops are 1.4 and 2.0 inches, and cast off is approximately .35 inches. ENGRAVING: Action, lever, safe, guard, tangs and latch are dressed in Purdey's storied bouquet and scroll. CONDITION: Bores are strong and bright. Barrels are full on face and ring sans hesitation. The lever rests just left of center. Ejectors punt like a politician in an election year. Barrel finish is approximately 85 percent. Colors are approximately 30 percent. Given the locks are slightly proud, it is probable that the wood was refinished when the pad was added. Wood condition/finish currently stands at approximately 80 percent. No case or papers. The price is firm and layaway is available. $9,000 plus shipping.
