Cherokee Plantation Commemorative Quail Game Guns. The ultimate Quail guns. One simply cannot find finer sporting game guns than those made by James Purdey & Sons. This is why we at Griffin & Howe have represented James Purdey & Sons in the USA since 1927. Serial number 29483 was completed in 1999 under the watchful eye of Chairman Nigel Beaumont as an exhibition example with large scroll & Cherokee Plantation Game Scene Quail by Stephen Kelly to celebrate Peter de Savary’s opening of Cherokee Plantation in SC. One of the founding members of Cherokee Plantation secured this shotgun for himself and then requested that Mr. Beaumont make a second Purdey serial # 29483A built to match 29483 and this was completed in April 2008. This magnificent comprised pair has remained in the care of their original custodian until now. A sporting gentleman from the low country. Annually maintained by Master Gunsmith Walter Eisserer former Griffin & Howe gunsmith from 1964 to 1968 moving on to work for himself and gaining a stellar reputation caring for many important fine sporting firearms collections.
