This Remington 870 has had the Tar Hunt conversion to DSG-12.

The “DSG"-12 (Designated Slug Gun) designation refers to the fact that TarHunt fits a “non-removable" (except by a gunsmith) custom fit, TarHunt/Shaw rifled slug barrel to your Remington 870 receiver. This rifled barrel is threaded in, using a one-to-one fit, with the receiver for the best possible accuracy. The rifled barrel has a matte black metal finish, 23 inches long, 1-28 twist rate and includes the muzzle brake as standard.

To convert the Remington 870 to a DSG-12, TarHunt will first measure the barrel hole in the front end of the receiver. Custom fit a block of steel into that receiver. We then fit, thread and screw in a new 1-28 twist rate, TarHunt/E.R. Shaw rifled barrel into that steel block. We then drill and tap the top of the receiver and install a custom made set of TarHunt scope bases (with # 8 screws) that are designed for the top of an 870 receiver. This solidly mounts the scope in the proper position, directly above the bore, assuring the best possible accuracy.

The shotgun has Zeiss TERRA 3X 3-9x42 scope with Leupold Rings and Bases.
