Remington AED 10 ga SN 104626 (1897)
This Remington AEO grade 10 gauge gun is in original new condition. It appears unfired. It still retains 100% of the high gloss varnish and perfect checkering. Case colors are bright. The ejectors work well. It has 32” Oxford 2 J.S. barrels with perfect Damascus pattern and excellent bores – choked full and full - (0.035R & 0.035L). The barrel lump is marked 77R and 80L. This would be 77% & 80% in 30 in. circle at 40 yards. Remington’s standard load for the 10 ga gun was 1 ½ oz. The twelve-gauge standard load was 1 ¼ oz and were factory tested with #8 shot. There are 2 very rear features in this gun. First is the bridge in the action flat for barrel lump – as described on pg. 285 in Simmer’s book. He only observed a single case. The second is the cheeks on the stock are checkered. This would make an interesting addition to your Remington collection.
