This is for a nice original Remington Whitmore Model 1875 Double Barrel 12 gauge shotgun. This is Remington's 2nd Double Barrel shotgun.This appears to be a 1st year Grade 2 with all matching serial numbers #499. This fine Hammer gun was well taken care and remains tight and on face with no play or apologies of any kind. The butt stock is solid with no cracks or repairs and its original smooth steel butt plate remains intact. The action is as solid as the day it was built and the hammers cock crisply and positive with a clean release on each trigger. Re-bounding firing pins are also in great shape and the lever is solid with no play. Musket style fore end is tight with the original tapered wedge pin intact. There is a small sliver of wood splintered off on the tip of the fore end. The barrels ring like a bell with with a nice twist pattern and plenty of original finish remaining. They measure 30 inches and have not been tampered with in any way. The bores are shiny and in nice condition with just a small amount of freckling (very light pitting) ahead of the chambers. Left bore measures .730 with a .715 choke. Right bore measures .730 with a .715 choke. LOP is 14 inches, DAC is 2 inches, DAH is 3 1/2 inches. Weight is 8 pounds 14 ounces.
